Legacy Role Update
To simplify permissions and improve platform security, ReachMoreParents is moving from a large number of legacy user roles to a smaller set of standardised new roles.
Over time, many different roles were created across schools and trusts. Some of these roles had overlapping permissions or were used inconsistently, which made it harder for schools to manage staff access and for the platform to maintain clear permission controls.
To address this, legacy roles are being replaced with a clear, consistent set of new roles. Each legacy role has been mapped to the most appropriate new role, as shown in the table below.
When this update is applied:
- Legacy roles will no longer be available
- Users currently assigned a legacy role will reset to the permissions of the mapped new role
- Some users may notice changes to what they can view, edit, or send within the platform
The most common impact will relate to mailbox access, as permissions to view, edit, or receive messages from mailboxes may change depending on the new role.
System Administrators must review key users, their roles, and mailbox permissions to ensure staff retain the correct access after the update.
